About Us
Passionate Pet Care In Surrey, BC
For more than a decade, pet owners in Surrey and White Rock have counted on Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital for skilled, accessible veterinary care. We are open seven days a week, offering a full range of services for dogs and cats, from routine wellness visits to urgent care, all in a welcoming environment built for the whole family.
Our Story
Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital opened in 2013, when Dr. Vikram Virk and Dr. Gurbrinder Ghuman joined together to create a practice rooted in their shared commitment to accessible, high-quality care. Both doctors had spent years building clinical experience across British Columbia before returning to the Lower Mainland to establish a clinic that the Surrey and White Rock community could rely on.
From the beginning, the goal was straightforward: offer thorough, dependable veterinary care in an environment where pets feel calm and clients feel informed. Over the past 13 years, that goal has guided everything from the services we provide to the way we set up our clinic space.
Today, Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital is a full-service animal hospital, welcoming both routine appointments and urgent care visits. We have built our practice to serve the everyday needs of local pet owners, and we remain committed to staying current with advances in veterinary medicine and diagnostics so we can continue meeting those needs well.
Our Philosophy
We believe that good veterinary care starts with education. When your pet comes in for an appointment, we take time to explain what we are seeing and what it means, and to talk through the role that nutrition and regular exercise play in keeping animals healthy over the long term. Our team stays current with developments in veterinary medicine, and we back that up with in-house diagnostics and access to a board-certified radiologist, which allows us to investigate what is going on with your pet without unnecessary delays or referrals.
We are also mindful of the clinic experience itself. Our space is designed to be calm, kid-friendly, and low-stress, because we know that a relaxed pet tends to have a more productive visit. We are open seven days a week because pet health does not work on a weekday schedule, and we want to be available when you need us.
Meet the Team
Dr. Vikram Virk, DVM, is one of the founding veterinarians of Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Virk came to Canada in 2007 and received his veterinary licence in 2010. He went on to practise in Fort McMurray before returning to British Columbia, working in North Vancouver and Langley before co-founding Peace Arch in 2013. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Virk enjoys time with his family.
Dr. Gurbrinder Ghuman, DVM, brings a strong academic and clinical foundation to our team. Dr. Ghuman completed his DVM in 2003 and went on to earn a master’s degree in veterinary science, with a focus on cardiovascular physiology and veterinary medicine. He pursued a second postgraduate degree at the University of Guelph and passed the national board exam in 2009. Dr. Ghuman worked as an associate veterinarian in Surrey and Abbotsford before co-founding Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital alongside Dr. Virk in 2013.
